We thought we had a septic tank, but our landlord told us it is just a pipe buried on a gravel field. A plumber ran a baffle pump down it and found it was blocked. I ran our 50 foot garden hose down and came back with white grease all over it. I think this happened over the winter. I can hook a garden hose up to my water heater, but will that be hot enough? None of the liquid plumber type things have worked. This gentleman at Lowe’s suggested the hot water down the hose too.

I just got a cheap lawn mower from Lowe’s and didn’t really care that I had to adjust the wheel height manually since there is not a lever, as on most self propelled mowers, but now, in it’s median height, it is barely skimming the grass.

Now that I have it filled with oil and gas, must I drain the fluids to turn it over and adjust the wheel height? I know, maybe a stupid question, but I just don’t want to damage the machine. Thanks for your help!

It is sort of pill shaped, as big as a potato and has lots of holes in it so that when you screw it on to the end of the garden hose the water sort of dribbles out. I’ve tried looking everywhere, I’ve even taken the broken one I have into Home Depot and Lowe’s. (they look at me like I’m crazy)

My friend had one, and it was around 3 – 5 inches long. I’m not really sure what it’s purpose was, but she really loved it. She can’t find it, and I’m trying to find one for her for her birthday because she would be SO surprised. I’ve looked at Lowe’s, but they didn’t know what I was talking about. What do Chemlawn and other lawn care companies do to your lawn that can’t be done yourself? With products from Home Depot Lowe’s etc?
