I’m gonna put them in the fireplace eventually, but for the party this weekend I want to run them in the middle of the living room like a campfire. So I put down some think plywood and poured some sand on it. Now I want to hook up the gas line. So i got some really think garden hose and the adapters to make it hook up to the logs on one end and the 5/8" steel pipe on the other. So, it leaks a little at the connections, but not a lot. So, how far away from the logs should I keep the people at the party?

I received a letter from the water company alerting me that my water consumption has gone up 300% since the last reading and my bill is 0.00. My water bill is usually under .00. I checked all the toilets for leaks and that is not a problem. I have no water draining in my house and the faucets outside are all off. My neighbor put in a shed last fall and drove over the sprinkle system. In the spring, I had a sprinkle company come out and check the system when I turned it on this spring and he said it was all OK. So, the large bill came when the sprinkle system went on. It usually is a bit higher but not 0.00. (lived here 15 years). No neighbor hood pools that were filled with my garden hose. I have turned off the sprinkle system and am afraid to turn it back on. Help, what should I do and where could this leak be? I do have a water softener…..any suggestions?
I have really nice neighbors and live in a good neighborhood. I don’t think anyone is stealing. I do have an area in the lawn that is soggy and not drying up like the rest of the lawn.
I did the dye test in the toilets: instilled a few gtts of food color in the tanks and non of it seeped into the toilets after 1 or 2 hours. So, toilets are all OK. I will call a plumber out! thanks for all these suggestions! I was clue-less as to the next steps to take.

I recently moved my washer and dryer to my back porch and had to connect my washer to my garden hose for water. The problem is that every time I connect the washing machine hose to the garden hose it leaks. It never had a problem before and I changed the washers and used plumbers tape Could it be that there is too much pressure coming from the hose? I have no idea what to do.

out drain hose, yes i had the ‘drain bib’ opened, stuck garden hose in filter compartment, filled back up,started, leaks waer, inspected all unions, etc, etc. ok. water came from under the tb,sorse unknown, tub manufacturer says i got water in air lines, does not tell how to remidy or avoid doing again.when i ask him wher the waer would leak out of air lines ,because i loo and feel and can not identify where it is leaking,he says he does not know.i am in the midwest and he is on the east coast so i am hard pressed to talk to him at all because of work.to combound to my problem ,the guy that built my home[before i moved here] built the floor 7 and 1/2 inches below grade…so iworked very hard to put up an exterior wall and built up the floor with pressure treated wood and went to very great lengths to not allow water, rain, moisture in,hand dug a200foot french drain and never drempt i would have troube like i am having. paid for the tub 1 year and 4 months ago, hooked it up 1month ago, been in it once .i hope no one has to go though what i have only to have this happen and then not be able to control the ph and free clorine to boot .i don’t even want to use it,but with the higher electric bill and the cost of the tub,all the work i did to house the tub i feel as the universe has closed in on me. ps.cyanuric acid, total alkalinity, and total hardness readings seem alright. how do i lower the ph and free clorine with out haveing the others be to low? i am border line on them being to low now! it did not help when at the start the tech. support did not even know the amount of salt to use which is soposed to be 4.3 lbs which is the same as 4.3 pints of salt iam told. he had us put in 7 lbs to start and theafter days of frustration trying to balance out took it to a spa and pool dealer and had it tested and they said that we were ‘bleached out’ that was when i emtied it . the heater at this point seems to be ok,as well as the pump and all the mechanical, although i am betting that my situation has not helped in their life expendence.thak you for your help and support. for your time my God BlessYou.

There are 2 brass water pipes, one hot, one cold, that used to run to a faucet. The faucet got broke out, leaving the brass pipes there. I do not know how to soldier and I have tried without success. I need to plug these pipes up so they do not leak. Right now I have two garden hoses hose clamped on with a shut off valve on the other end, but it constantly leaks where the three hose clamps are on both. Without calling a plumber I was wondering if there was a way to fix this. My idea was to find a solution to insert into the ends of the pipes to seal it off, but have been unsuccessful in finding something like that. Any new ideas or solutions would be helpful.
it is copper, not brass

I have a 1/2 inch PVC line running the length of the garden with valves to water only the rows that need it. I am using a 25psi reducer at the faucet. I have tried hoses from different stores and keep haveing the same problems. The hoses keep blowing. Speaking with numerous nurseries and other gardeners I came to the conclusion that maybe mice were eating them. I tried organic powders containing garlic and blood meal, as well as poison. Nothing ate the poison but I am still getting holes in my hoses. Until the last time I replaced them all I had more menders than I had hoses in the garden. Since my other efforts aren’t helping, does anyone have any ideas. Could my pressure reducer be faulty?? I have 60psi at the faucet and have my timer and reducer connected to it. I am able to water 375 feet of hose at the same time. I know the reducer is doing something, it leaks through the check valve hole. Do I need a reducer on every hose or could it be something else?

The question is should I get it fixed or replaced?
Problem: Home front outdoor garden pipe at ground or just below ground level there is a leak below isolation valve.
Explaination: The leaks are now under water due to the water that’s building up in my front garden. It’s hard to determine exactly where the leak/s are even after trying to bucket it out but I know there small leaks due to corroded pipe which show signs of concrete sealant on it already from the past owner.
Should I call a plumber to come out and take a look at it and give me an estimate?
How much is the average charge to fix pipe?
and if the water pipe needs to be replaced….
What is the average cost to replace water pipe that leads underground?
Thanks for your help.

So i was washing my car and i left the garden hose on all night until i got back from school the next day. It has a pressure nozzle, so water only comes out when you pull the handle. Did i waste any water other than the lilttle bit that leaks? Will it effect my water bill any? How much?
