only to have a neighbor hire some "pro" that rushes through it like a tornado and isn’t respectful of property lines? I know it is only grass but when you spend hours on it every week and then some guy scalps part of it so it is noticable, it tends to tick one off! well?

I need 3000 bucks by the end of summer and im going to start a lawn service.
I have a riding mower, a push mower, a weed eater, tree trimmers and an edger.
should i charge hourly, or by the size of the lawn?
How much do i charge for riding mower?
How much do i charge for weed eating?
How much do i charge for edging?
How much do i charge for tree trimming?
(I live in texas, Its hot, grass grows fast, I get sunburned easily, and gas prices are exceptionally high)
PLEASE NO BS ANSWERS OR ANY DUMB-TRYING-TO-BE-FUNNY ANSWERS!

I have Zoysia grass in my yard in one spot; its a fairly large patch; and it has been spreading – somewhat. It does well. Can anyone offer me general health care tips for this lawn (which is very nice looking) and tell me how to encourage it to spread? I’m a novice lawn care person, so please be clear (like don’t just say put fertilizer around it, I don’t know what month to do that in…).

Thanks alot for any help

School me on proper shady lawn care?

Here are some particulars: live in PA, have about a third of an acre with about a 10, 50-60 year old trees in my yard. There’s a mix of grass, moss, weeds, and other organic matter (acorns, twigs, needles, etc) on the ground now. I’m trying to grow grass effectively. This is the third spring we’ve been here, and in the previous two years, I’ve put down random 2-3 pound bags of grass to try to get some of the repair started. It’s pretty spotty and I did notice that this spring, some of the seed that I planted in the past 2 years had surprisingly began to emerge! But it’s still pretty thin.

I’m not interested in tearing up the whole lawn and starting from scratch. I’m interested in perhaps trying some of those new products like Scotts EZ Seed, but want to perhaps mix it with another seed to a) control costs, and b) have a grass that can grow fast, but live throughout the year and remain after the grounds thaw in the winter. Is this doable? If so, what are your tips to help my partial lawn grow into a nice, thick lawn?

BQ, I just spread some weed ‘n feed in my front lawn, how long should I wait to spread seed so that the new seed won’t burn from the fertilizer?
I appreciate the input. But I will also add that my neighbors have GREAT lawns. So my physical attributes don’t matter TOO much. I’m just wondering how I can get over the hump! :) !

I am a very clean person. I love cleanliness. I like dogs, but I don’t have one. Other people are walking their dogs, by my lawn, and letting them pee and pee on my LAWN!!! This is private property, they are invading my property!!!! I live in a court, and not many people walk by. I HATE it when people walk into our court with dogs. Their dogs pee everywhere!!!! They’re peeing on my lawn and making the grass yellow and ugly, and spreading a ton of germs. My lawn, even though not fenced in, is still private property, right? My parents don’t really care, but I HATE germs. OUR LAWN IS PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!!! HOW DO I KEEP DOGS OF MY FAMILY’S LAWN????? As, I said the rest of my familey don’t really care, but I dislike germs and plan to get rid of dog pee and poo on my lawn!!! My parents aren’t going to install a fence or anything. How can I keep dogs and people off my private property? How can I get revenge? How can I find out if there is dog pee in certain spot of my lawn??

THANKS, SORRY ITS SOOO LONG!!!

How do I regrow a lawn from scratch?

I’m currently living in the UK, and I recently moved into a home with a lawn that’s 30 percent moss, and 30 percent weeds. I lived in Arizona prior to the UK, so the lawn-caring thing is new to me, but what I want to do is rip everything up and reseed the grass. What will I need to do this?

Mysterious holes in my lawn?

My family and I were weeding our lawn a few weeks ago, and we discovered about four or five holes in our lawn. The grass seemed to have shriveled up and died, leaving patches of dirt behind. I don’t know what’s the cause, but we have a feeling that our next door neighbor’s dog had been using our lawn as a toilet. We can’t jump to conclusions, though, and I don’t have any proof. Plus other factors might have cause the patches to form.
But more and more patches began to form, and our holes are getting wider and deeper. Our other neighbors don’t have the holes like the ones in our lawn, and we take very good care of our grass. We weed it whenever we see a foreign plant on in the grass, we water it when the grass gets dry, and we mow it when the grass is getting too tall. I don’t think we’re doing any wrong. Can anyone tell me what’s the problem?

My family just bought a nice home a few weeks ago. The grass was green and nice. But after awhile, its starting to die on a few spots of the lawn. It’s about 80-90 degrees this time of year where I live and we water during the night.
Please give me some tips or advice. We are first time home owners so we don’t have much experience with caring for the lawn.

Dying Trees and lawn?

I recently purchased a home that was in foreclosure for a while. As a result, the lawn and trees were not taken care of. The grass was dead when I moved in and now my trees are starting to die. What can i do to help save them and stop their slow demise?

My dad said it would act as a fertilizer..but i’m not so sure about that. So should i leave it there? or what would be the best way to take care of cut grass
