Good day everybody,
I’ve been using some absolutely remarkable and fantastic water filters from http://puritec.com (worth a good look). I was recently wondering if
the filterers that I use could be adjusted to work with say outdoor garden hoses, I’m talking about a direct link? Anyone have any experience on this?
I have two garden hoses hooked together and water shoots from the connection between them. The connection is tight so that is not the problem.
As the weather approaches above freezing, and I’m still stuck in the house cause it’s too chilly to play outside with my toddler, I’ve begun my "spring" cleaning that will culminate with the airing out of my house as soon as it’s warm XD I just turned off my ceiling fan that has been running for circulation all winter and OMG lol. So what’s your favorite cleaning tips? Anyone have any idea how to get the outside of my window clean(we live in a 2nd floor apartment and have no ladder to get at it from the outside, nor are we allowed to have garden hoses so I can’t spray clean it from the ground. I can get the bottom half, but have no idea how to get the part that is blocked by the upper window when I slide it up far enough to get my arm in there. I live about a block from an oil refinery, so there’s all sorts of gunk on the outsides that’s driving me nuts lol. So what are your favorite cleaning ideas/tips that don’t involve me spending any money, I have a vacuum w/ a hose, and your basic cleaners, but don’t plan on any new doohickeys or "easy cleaning solutions". Thanks!
Thanks so far~ I am planning a yard sale in about a month to help take care of clutter, and unfortunately, this particular window doesn’t come out, it’s practically antique lol, our landlord has replaced half the windows in our apartment, and is trying to get us to replace 2 that have cracked(were that way when we moved in, and our building is very crooked, so they keep doing it)
pool holds almost 5,000 gallons of water but will be in partial shade. need to know how to set your system up. also wonder if the hose could be coiled on the ground in a sunny area rather than put up on the roof? what horsepower and type of pump do I need? how many gallons per hour should the pump circulate? where do you find 500 foot black garden hoses? do you use a solar blanket with your system or solar fish or leave it uncovered?
People have told me I should leave a faucet dripping overnight to help keep the house’s pipes from freezing. Just one? Should it be in the house, like the kitchen sink, or should it be one of the outside ones? I’ve already taken the garden hoses off those and wrapped them in towels. Anything else I should do? Thanks!
Perfect, Pancake! Just what I needed to know. Thanks!
There are 2 brass water pipes, one hot, one cold, that used to run to a faucet. The faucet got broke out, leaving the brass pipes there. I do not know how to soldier and I have tried without success. I need to plug these pipes up so they do not leak. Right now I have two garden hoses hose clamped on with a shut off valve on the other end, but it constantly leaks where the three hose clamps are on both. Without calling a plumber I was wondering if there was a way to fix this. My idea was to find a solution to insert into the ends of the pipes to seal it off, but have been unsuccessful in finding something like that. Any new ideas or solutions would be helpful.
it is copper, not brass
I am researching on if it is possible to build a hydronic underfloor heating system from common materials. I was thinking about purchasing a medium size water heater, water pump, and about 1000 feet of tubing, maybe pvc, or even your higher end common garden hoses as they dont have much insulation to contain the heat in the hose. and it isnt like the lines will be under any serious pressure. I am on a 4′ crawlspace now, and I am getting ready to install insulation. Any recommendations? the commercial stuff is way over priced if you have researched you can pick up a water heater for under 150 and a commercial smaller boiler will run 2000. also the pex hosing runs about 10 dollars a foot, your most expensive hose isnt 30 dollars for 50 feet. Any help is appreciated.. Thanks
I was wondering if this sounds like it would work well. I am trying not to dump 10k into a radiant system. And I have never seen one in person or the components used. But looking online at a few sites I have seen where water heaters were used, and I am not sure if they work properly for this application, also the hose, or tubing. The pex tubing that is suppose to be used looks alot like a garden hose. I was also thinking about running PVC as it is cheap too. I would think the hose would be better as I can run it between the joists in a snake pattern because it is so flexible. I am not wanting to waste 1000 either if it isnt going to work correctly. I was hoping to get some answers from people that have experience with this stuff. Will the PVC or a garden hose distribute heat well? or is there another inexpensive hose/tube that would work better other than the PEX? Will the water heater work for a heat source on a 1000 feet of tubing? and what size is recommended? How large a pump? TIA
I want a timer that can run 2 or more garden hoses at different times (because of low water pressure), so the timer needs to also be the splitter. Anyone know of such a product?
Thanks!
We need to drain our above ground pool and the instructions say that you can attach a garden hose to the drain plug but my hose will not fit! Is there different sizes of garden hoses? Thanks!
