I at one time had seen a landscape person undo a new garden hose and lay it out on the ground…I didn’t see any more but they said what they were doing would keep it from crinking…anyone know what they might have had in mind? Is there a trick to stop that problems. Thanks in advance

Lay it out straight and start by making a circle that’s a good size for you.
If you’re facing the hose where the circle is on your right and appears underlined to the left then take the hose and wind it counter-clockwise while you roll your hands and wrists downwards as you go circle over circle.
Hope that helps!
the sun will warm the hose then when you roll it back up, it can be a larger circle than it was when you brought it home.
The type and stiffness of the hose is more important than anything else with regard to the tendancy to kink.
There are special garden hoses designed to be "kink resistant", but they generally more expensive and stiffer.
Now when loading hose onto a reel, laying out the hose on the ground and eliminating any "twists" in it before mounting it on the reel will help keep the hose from kinking since it is that "twist" which causes most kinks. Similarly if you return the hose to the reel taking care to eliminate twists as you go it will help as well.
