I live in the midwest so our cold winters warrant a deep hole to get below the freeze line. I used 22 – 80lb bags of cement to fill the hole. I suggest calling your local cement company and seeing if they offer 1/2 yard pick-up service. It would have saved me a bunch of time. The assembly was pretty easy. I completed as much as I could be myself and found the instructions to be pretty straight forward. I could usually compare the picture to the part I needed and was confident that I had the correct bolt etc… You will need two people to complete the assembly. I had four men carry the assembled pole from my garage to the concrete pad and then stand the pole up. I suppose you could do this step with three men but I would not try it with less. The system plays great. The backboard is quiet with very little vibration. The height adjustment mechanisism is easy to use but certainly not something a young kid should attempt. When moving the height to 10 feet the last foot or so requires some effort. Overall I am very happy with the pole. When I got it I was really excited. I dont know what really good instructions would be but these instructions where definately not bad. The setup was easy and fun I did almost all of it with my dad but at the part when you are attaching the backboard to the pole you will need two adults. Other than that the setup was really easy. The backboard barely shakes at all it is just like playing in an indoor gym no joke. I like how the backboard is 54 inches long. The glass makes a big difference between stuff like acrylic, it has a great bounce off the backboard. The rim is also good quality. The only bad thing (which really doesn’t matter) is that it takes kind of a while adjusting the hoop from 7.5 to 10 feet. This is also the best looking driveway basketball hoop I have ever seen and it the best quality basketball hoop I have ever played on. Don’t listen to the negative comment, the backboard will not splinter or whatever.
