I’ve NEVER been big on keeping up a lawn & still not excited about it. But now that I’m a homeowner, I want to begin to take some basic steps to make my yard a lil’ better. With that being said, what are some things I can do? Thanx in advance for your answers.
I am new to caring for lawns. I have a new yard with a sodded front and seeded back. What are the basics for caring for something like this besides water and mowing? Thanks.
We have a I/C Quiet Briggs OHV that is about 15 years old and probably has more than 1000 hours. Does anyone know what the design lifetime is? I have no idea if it is 500 hours or 5000. It’s running great so far, but I was just wondering if it is considered high hours/worn out or not. I do take care of it (change oil/filters/plug every season or two). It might have some carbon though (not worth it to take the head of until it starts having problems).
only to have a neighbor hire some "pro" that rushes through it like a tornado and isn’t respectful of property lines? I know it is only grass but when you spend hours on it every week and then some guy scalps part of it so it is noticable, it tends to tick one off! well?
I need 3000 bucks by the end of summer and im going to start a lawn service.
I have a riding mower, a push mower, a weed eater, tree trimmers and an edger.
should i charge hourly, or by the size of the lawn?
How much do i charge for riding mower?
How much do i charge for weed eating?
How much do i charge for edging?
How much do i charge for tree trimming?
(I live in texas, Its hot, grass grows fast, I get sunburned easily, and gas prices are exceptionally high)

I have two areas in my back yard that are over grown with weeds and it’s just a mess. I would like to KILL the weeds, put that black tarp down and turn them into beautiful flower beds. The areas are huge one is maybe the size of an average master bedroom with bath and the other a normal size "kids" room each on the left and right side of my screened back porch. My husband isn’t a huge help so I am mostly along in this endeavor. HELP what are the step I can take to clean these places up and my my yard the envy of the neighborhood Thanks for honest answers that are truly helpful.

I have Zoysia grass in my yard in one spot; its a fairly large patch; and it has been spreading – somewhat. It does well. Can anyone offer me general health care tips for this lawn (which is very nice looking) and tell me how to encourage it to spread? I’m a novice lawn care person, so please be clear (like don’t just say put fertilizer around it, I don’t know what month to do that in…).
