How do I help my lawn? Grass is turning brown.?

I live in Illinois. We have a new lawn that was seeded last fall. Bluegrass/Fescue mix I beleive.?. It was fertilized last fall as well. I have a great stand of grass and it looked awesome last fall and early this spring, but now the grass is starting to look a little brown. It doesn’t appear that the whole lawn is going to die, but I want good looking lush green grass. There are also some weeds starting to show (white clover, some broadleaf type weeds etc…). I want my lawn to look really good. The lawn doesn’t recieve much shade, but it hasn’t been all that hot yet either. What should I do? I would like to care for my lawn on my own, but I dont’ know what it needs. What does is cost to let the professionalls at it? We have a .25 (1/4) acre lot in a small town. Thanks in advance.

I think I did something bad to my lawn…?

Last night, I put down a Scott’s brand Weed and Feed. I didn’t even think about seeding my yard (the previous owner took no care of the yard and has lots of weeds and bare spots). It says on the bag not to seed for 1 month. Is there any more I can do in the meantime?

Lawn maintenance?

I recently moved into a house with a 1/4 acre (I think) backyard. Unfortunetly, the former tenents did not care about the yard and let it go to absolute hell. The grass is so dead its dark brownish and there is patches where there’s no grass at all scattered all over the lawn. There’s also an abundance of your basic weeds and clovers.

How do I go about carefully removing the weeds and dead grass, and replacing it when lush grass that will thrive?

I just moved in to a new house, and the back lawn wasn’t taken care of very well. There are several patches of goat heads everywhere, and I wanted to know the best way to get rid of them quickly.

Best (and cheapest) way to reseed?

My BF and I just bought a beautiful house that I totally love. Problem is, it used to be occupied by three college guys who obviously didn’t take care of the lawn, (among other things!). The lawn desperately needs to be weeded since it looks like crabgrass and dandelions are thriving quite nicely. It also needs to be reseeded. What is the best and most cost effective way of doing this in time for Spring and Summer? THANKS!

Tips on growing a beautiful lawn for a dummy?

My family lives in a cul-de-sac and I feel as though our family is known to be the one that doesn’t take care of their lawn. The house across from us has a beautiful even green lawn. My house has mixtures of weeds, clovers, dandelions, purple flowers, white flowers, crabgrass, light green grass, dark green grass, yellow grass, potholes, thick, thin, dead…(i could keep going on). I’m the one that "takes care" of the lawn by mowing and trimming it every two weeks or so. My mom works all the time and my sister doesn’t do anything. I’m only 18 and not sure where to start. I applied some Scotch Turf Builder not too long ago after mowing my lawn for the first time this year. I’m hoping for the best.

I’ve done some research and found out there’s different types of grass. Like I said, I don’t know anything about grass and my lawn’s a jungle. What starting steps should I take to make my lawn better?

I live in Tennessee, so the seasons are pretty evened out. Winters are cold and summers are getting hotter. My front lawn is on a slight downward slope to the street and receives the most sun during the day. My back lawn is shaded by my house and looks better than my front lawn but does not compare to my neighbor’s lawn at all.

Please Help!!

It has gas, it has oil. How do you start it?

It has gas and oil, how do you start it?

I have an old tree in front of my home. I like to add a flower bed around the tree, but I am new to planting and gardening. Also, my lawn needs a lot of care. Last year my husband tilled part of our lawn and we replanted new grass, but our lawn looks very unhealty with a lot of try, burned like spots. What can I do to have a healthy lawn, and how do I go about creating my flower bed around the tree. I like to put a border around the tree like a small wall maybe. I want the flower bed be higher than the actual lawn. We have mostly clay dirt. Can you give me some advice and/or help. Thanks.
