The garden was totally weeded out. It gets a fair amount of sun during the day, but I don’t have a hose out front (will have to truck buckets of H2O from the back). I’m worried the weeds will grow back, too. I’m in the city, and I just want it to look half-decent (low-maintenance). Do I use weed-killer before planting? Do I add topsoil? Flowers vs. ground-cover plants? I know next to nothing about it.

I am eventually wanting to get into landscaping and lawn care. When is the best time to place bids for different places and were are the best places to find new company’s here in southeastern south carolina?
What are the average bids?

I just bought my first home and learning about lawn care. I have a ton of weeds and kind of a crappy lawn. I used one of those connect to your hose and spray your lawn weed killers. How long do I have to wait to use a "weed & feed" lawn fertilizer? Since I applied a weed killer already do I still need the "Weed & feed" variety? Would that be too much weed killer for my lawn? Should I just get regular fertilizer? If I applied the spray weed killer and fertilizer today, would that be a bad thing?

I hope I describe this properly. Out in my back patio, there’s an outdoor faucet/hose connection and a cleanout plug coming out of the stucco right next to it. I want to add an outdoor sink/tub for dirty cleanups without having to reenter the house. I can tap into the garden faucet and run cold water fairly easily. My question is whether I can open the cleanout plug and run the drain pipe into a T attached to it? If so, do I need to run a vent pipe up above the roofline? Also, where do I connect this vertical vent pipe (between the trap and the cleanout T plug)?

How to turn an old garden into grass?

I moved into a house with a huge garden in the back that I want covered up and replaced with grass. It is completely run over in weeds, and the soil is very hard and clay like. What is the best way to make it grass? Do I kill all the weeds first? and what is better, grass seeds or those pre-grown grass mats? I don’t have any experience in lawn care. Thanks for the help!

well pump will I burn it up?

I have a 1 1/2 hp pump and I would like to know if I removed all the pipes and just used a garden hose if I will burn the pump up ( starting pump and having hose on until I unplug the pump )

i live in the USA, in oregon.

It is going to be 100 degrees (central valley CA) in a couple of days, I have a raised bed garden all mixed up with watermelon, strawberries, basil, jalepeno, tomato, red and green bell peppers, cantelope, and cucumbers. They are all mixed up with a soaker hose running along the sides of the plants. If I water them all at the same time how often and how much water should I give them? I don’t want to kill them because I worked so so so hard on them, please help!!

I have over 20+ sprinklers on my lawn and i have read in Scott’s Lawn Care book that i need to lay down 1 inch of water per week for it to remain healthy.

Does anyone have a good way to measure this?

Need an adapter for outdoor faucet (sill cock)?

Now that I have actually taken the time to measure, my outdoor faucet (sill cock) has a 1 and ¼” male thread. I’m trying to find an adaptor so I can hook up my garden hose which has a 1” female thread. Can anybody help?
